Don't Call Me Sister Peebs.Net is pleased to present a second work by Marion Field - the serialization of Don't Call Me Sister. First published in 1993, Don't Call Me Sister was re-published in 1998 by Highland Books, UK and is an autobiographical work that describes the difficulties faced by an Exclusive Brethren woman born into the Exclusive Brethren. It is an indictment that nearly two decades later, the Exclusive Brethren continue to be regarded by many as the epitomy of Hypocrisy; they are viewed as a political laughing stock and disaster area; and are publicly labeled a cult for the heartless and un-Christian way in which they rip families apart in the name of their home-grown legalism. Although they claim to be the 'Bride of Christ' - their actions and attitudes prove them to be a far cry from the simple Christians who once met in simplicity and humility with the scriptures and evangelical zeal at their core. As Marion Field describes, their treatment of women is a disgrace. Today, the Exclusive Brethren are barely recognizable as the Christians they claim to be. |
